Terms of Service
The short version
- Your recipes are yours. We don’t claim any rights to them.
- Ajimi helps you cook, but it isn’t medical advice. Always check labels and use your own judgement, especially with allergies.
- Pro and Chef Credit packs are bought through the App Store or Google Play, and those stores handle billing, cancelling and refunds.
- Use Ajimi for your own cooking, and respect the people who wrote the recipes.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Ajimi is made by Launchable Ventures LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company in the United States (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the Ajimi app for iPhone and Android and this website, getajimi.com. By using either, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Ajimi. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
2. Allergies, diets and health
Ajimi is a cooking tool, not medical or dietary advice. Allergen checks, ingredient swaps and nutrition figures come from automated rules and AI. They can be wrong or incomplete: a recipe may leave out an ingredient, a product may contain something its name doesn’t suggest, and nutrition figures are estimates.
- Always read the label of every product you use, and check with the manufacturer if you’re unsure.
- If you or someone you cook for has a serious allergy, a medical condition or a prescribed diet, follow the advice of your doctor or dietitian over anything in the app.
- Use normal kitchen judgement on cooking times, temperatures and food safety.
3. Your recipes
You keep full ownership of the recipes, notes, photos and changes you add to Ajimi. We don’t claim any rights to them. They are stored on your phone (see the Privacy Policy), and you can export or delete them at any time from inside the app.
4. Other people’s recipes
When you save a recipe from a website, a video or a book, it still belongs to the person who wrote it. Ajimi saves it for your own personal cooking and keeps the creator’s credit and a link back to the original. Please don’t use Ajimi to republish other people’s recipes as your own or to sell them.
Recipe creators can read how their recipes are handled, and ask us not to import them, on our page for recipe creators.
5. Pro, Chef Credits and payments
- Free plan. The free plan has no time limit and includes the Chef Credits described on our home page.
- Pro. Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly through your Apple or Google account. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
- Free trials. If a trial is offered, it turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then. The app reminds you before the trial ends.
- Chef Credits. A Chef Credit pays for one AI action, such as reading a video or a photo, or adapting a recipe. Monthly credits refresh each month and don’t roll over. Credit packs you buy don’t expire. Pro’s monthly allowance is a fair-use ceiling of 100 Chef Credits, shared across your household.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds follow their policies. You can ask them for a refund from your purchase history.
- Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
- Price changes. If the price of Pro changes, the store tells you before it applies, and you can cancel.
6. The waitlist and our emails
If you join the waitlist or the Creator Program on this website, we email you about Ajimi, such as your invite and launch news. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
7. Fair use
Please don’t:
- use automated tools to send requests to Ajimi’s services, or try to get around Chef Credit limits;
- copy, reverse-engineer or resell the app or its services;
- use Ajimi to break the law or anyone else’s rights, including copyright.
If someone seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules, we may stop their access to the services that run on our servers. Recipes already on their phone stay theirs.
8. Changes to Ajimi
We keep improving Ajimi, so features may change, and some may be added or removed. We work to keep our online services running, but we can’t promise they will always be available. Everything stored on your phone keeps working either way.
9. Our responsibility to you
Ajimi is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we don’t give warranties beyond what these terms say, and we aren’t responsible for how a dish turns out, or for illness, allergic reactions or injuries that come from preparing or eating food, including food made with an automated swap.
As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or [US$50] if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.
10. App store terms
If you got Ajimi from the App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. They aren’t responsible for the app or its support. For iPhone, Apple’s standard terms for apps also apply, and Apple may enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary. [Legal review: confirm the Apple and Google wording required for a custom licence agreement.]
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA. If you have a problem, please email us first. Most things can be sorted out quickly. [Legal review: courts or arbitration for disputes, and the rules for consumers in the EU and UK.]
12. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll also tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
